A convicted assassin on the run for practically per week has dented her promising chance of getting parole, South Australia's corrections boss says.
Tara Kehoe, 37, went missing during an external work program that is part of a pre-launch initiative at Adelaide Women's Jail in Northfield last Friday.
Ms Kehoe had spent about 18 years in custody for the murder of an 18-yr-outdated lady in December 1996 with 4 others.
Department of Corrections chief government David Brown says the prisoner has let down the pre-release program that trusted her to work externally.
"Prisoners like Ms Kehoe get that chance so we can test them. Now clearly she's failed that check and she's let this system down," he informed ABC radio on Thursday.
He stated she will face court docket when caught and has harm her probabilities of securing parole within the close to future, despite being moved to a pre-release centre in March.
"This isn't the way in which the system is supposed to work. It's totally unacceptable that this woman has breached the belief put in her," he mentioned.
Deputy opposition leader Vickie Chapman said it was a "ridiculous scenario".

The incident follows one other Adelaide prisoner spending about two months at massive, after being turned away by SA jail staff when he tried to return from short-term go away to attend his sister's funeral.
