Russian and Syrian armed forces will pause assaults on the Syrian city of Aleppo for eight hours on Thursday to permit civilians and rebels to leave the city, the Russian defence ministry says.
But on Monday Moscow ruled out a long-lasting ceasefire, a step that Western governments have been demanding, saying that might only give Islamist rebels within the city a possibility to regroup.
Russian plane and Syrian forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad have been bombarding rebel-controlled districts of Aleppo since the collapse of an internationally-brokered ceasefire last month.
The announcement comes as 14 members of one family had been killed in an air strike in insurgent-held japanese Aleppo on Monday.
A list of these killed in the city, printed by the Civil Defence, included a number of infants, among them two six-week old infants and 6 other youngsters aged eight or under.
The Civil Defence, a rescue service working in insurgent-held areas of Syria whose staff are often called "White Helmets", identified the jets as Russian. The attack hit Aleppo's al-Marjeh space.
Later in the day, separate air strikes on the village of Awaijel west of Aleppo killed no less than 23 people and the toll was expected to rise, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group reported.
A Syrian navy supply stated the military had focused terrorists in three areas of Aleppo on Monday, killing seven of them.
The government refers to all rebel fighters as terrorists.
The Observatory mentioned 17 more folks have been killed in assaults by Russian jets on Sunday night time in the al-Qarterji district of insurgent-held Aleppo. That included five kids, it said.
The monitoring group said it had recorded the deaths of eighty two individuals including 17 kids in authorities-held areas of western Aleppo on account of insurgent shelling.
The United States and some European states have accused Moscow and Syria of committing atrocities, but Russian officers deny that and accuse the West of abetting terrorists.

Talking at a briefing in Moscow, Lieutenant-Normal Sergei Rudskoy, a senior defence ministry official, mentioned rebels in elements of Aleppo had been killing civilians while Western governments turned a blind eye.
He stated Russia is working to realize a peace deal for Aleppo, however that might take time, so within the meantime it had decided to provoke a humanitarian pause.
